"I went to the refuge in April 2013 and was there for 11 months. I had a very sudden move. It was very much an emotional rollercoaster. The staff have been so supportive, patient and understanding. The work that I have done with my keyworker has completely changed my life. Without the refuge I would never have been able to get out of the situation I was in."
"Living in the refuge can be emotional. Learning to compromise and deal with other peoples issues. But the support that you receive from other residents is invaluable. I have recently moved out of the refuge and although it was the right time for us, I do really miss being there. I felt very safe whilst in refuge and it really did feel like home for me and my two children. I feel as though I “want to go home”. It feels very strange now having my own house, but I had an amazing experience in refuge."
"I would completely recommend anyone who is seeking support to contact IDAS and use the services they have available."
