Everyone involved with IDAS is proud to be part of our forward thinking, specialist charity. As we have grown, our team of staff, volunteers, IDAS champions and trustees has topped 100 people.
We are committed to training staff to the highest standard and nearly 80% of our support workers are fully Safe Lives accredited IDVAs or ISVAs. Our management team have many years of relevant experience in management roles, legal services, finance, social care and the charitable sector.
Volunteers are offered excellent induction training and on-site support and are able to provide peer support and befriending.
Our brilliant team of champions, including many survivors of abuse are dedicated to raising awareness about the charity and encouraging others to come forward for support.
We are extremely proud of our patrons, poet and performer, Joolz Denby, author, Joanne Harris actor, Rory Cowan and humanitarian, Margaret Sentamu who have all joined IDAS to help promote the vital work we do.
As a charity, the work of IDAS is overseen by a Trustee Board which comprises skilled and knowledgeable people recruited from a wide range of backgrounds including the law, human resources, marketing and finance.
“Thank you for all the support I have received, many services came and went but my support worker at IDAS was always a constant. I know that I can re connect with the service in the future if I need to and I would like to say thank you for all the help and guidance I received.”
