Outreach services

Our outreach workers provide support to all victims of domestic abuse living in York, Harrogate and District, Hambleton, Richmondshire and Craven (Skipton). We work with women and men, people in gay relationships and people who are in fear of being forced into a marriage.

You can access outreach services if you are currently experiencing domestic abuse or if you have experienced it in the past and are still living with the effects of it. We will not persuade you to leave your partner - we will work with you to find out what your choices are.

The outreach worker can see you at her office, in your home if it is safe, or at any other location which you both agree on. The outreach worker will help with things like;

  • housing,
  • benefits,
  • child contact,
  • safety planning,
  • re-establishing family relationships,
  • re-establishing friendships,
  • support through the criminal justice system
  • the emotional effects of domestic abuse.
