Introduction

Domestic violence is so widespread that it is highly likely that we all know people, both in or out or work, who are experiencing or perpetrating violence. When people confide in us, either as colleagues, friends or clients, it may be the first time they have told anyone. It's essential to respond to their disclosure appropriately.

Many professionals working in the social care sector will work with both those who are abused and perpetrators. Finding appropriate ways of working in this case is essential. In this section there are links to other agencies and more in-depth resources that can help in this work.
